Fr Peter Cornwell, former College Chaplain, has died. |
The College received the very sad news that Fr Peter had died. Father Peter Cornwell was at College 1992-1998 as the Chaplain. He was known for his friendship, kindness and passion for history. He wrote The Phoenix in 2005 which has been updated with Denis Clarke in 2016 - a treasure trove of stories and background history to Prior Park College. He will be remembered by all and our thoughts go to his surviving wife, Hilary and son, Dr James Cornwell (PPA 1990) and daughter Lizzie. Read his obituary in The Tablet.

Changing lives at Prior Park College |
This September, the College is set to double the number of students who are on significant means tested bursaries. They can range from 55% to 110% remission and make possible an independent education for gifted children from families living in postcodes normally associated with depravation. Transformational bursaries are supported by alumni, parents and friends and are designed to transform the life chances of a young boy or girl by providing financial support to cover fees and costs of a boarding or day place at the College. Hong Kong SAR regional Zoomunion Ben Horan, our Headmaster, will host a special virtual get-together for our Hong Kong and Hong Kong based alumni. Prior Park College has a long history of receiving students from Hong Kong. Since 2015, the College had made various plans to visit, but events conspired against us. We hope to visit in October, but this of course, is Covid dependent. In the meantime, we will bring the College to you. Save the date in your diary for 12th May, 5pm HK time. Invites will go out over the next few weeks. |

Reunions at Prior Park College We are looking forward to restarting our alumni reunions, physically at the College, which run throughout the year. These normally take the form of a tour and afternoon tea on the Steps, weather permitting. Then, our alumni make their way down the hill and land in some of the pubs they should not have been in when they were here as pupils. Read more... |

Mansion Lecture and Lunch Lecture given by Dr Michael Callander (PPA 1968): Including Memories of PPC & Tales from the other side. Followed by lunch in Academy Hall. Invites to go out during summer term. Mark your diary |
Last word: It has been a fantastic start to the month of March as we welcomed back the majority of our College. The noise and activities at lunchtime synonymous with schoolyards and playing fields has returned with gusto: laughter, screams, chatter, raised voices, chases, rolling down the grassy embankment, jumpers for goalposts, ruining your trousers on your first day back with an unnecessary slide tackle, half of your lunch concealed in blazer pockets that were never meant to be used as pockets... and that's just the teachers. Happy days! |
