Dominic King (PPA 2000) explores society's biggest challenges in new book

Dom King (PPA 2000)Congratulations to Dom King,  whose first non-fiction book has been published. It's an examination of some of the defining challenges facing modern society.

In the book, Dom explores issues including climate change, screen addiction and the global obesity epidemic, arguing that many of today's most pressing problems are rooted in a common human tendency towards instant gratification and an enduring belief that technology alone can solve complex challenges.

Rather than viewing these issues in isolation, Dom draws them together through a thought-provoking central idea: how can individuals and societies find a healthier balance between short-term convenience and long-term wellbeing?

The book encourages readers to question assumptions about progress, asking whether the pursuit of greater speed, ease and efficiency has sometimes come at the expense of resilience, health and sustainability. By examining the behavioural biases that influence everyday decisions, Dom invites readers to think differently about the choices that shape both personal lives and wider society.

Announcing the forthcoming publication, Dom thanked the friends and colleagues who helped refine his ideas throughout the writing process, acknowledging the collaborative conversations that contributed to bringing the project to life.

Published by Austin Macauley Publishers, the book marks an exciting milestone in Dom's career and contributes to an increasingly important conversation about how we navigate the opportunities and challenges of the modern world.
